Internews has produced a guideline in Arabic for combating sexual harassment in the Iraqi news media outlets. The guideline is the main outcome of ten roundtables that Internews’ Aswatouna (Our Voices Project) and its local partners organized with journalists, media outlet managers, media stakeholders, legal and Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV) experts across the country.

The goal of this guide is to support the media outlets to have effective measurements to combat sexual harassment and to support female journalists to report gender-based violence and harassment in the workplace. It contains topics such as, but not limited to:

• What is sexual harassment in the workplace?
• Why do media outlets are in need of anti-harassment policies?
• What are the responsibilities of the media outlets in combating harassment?
• What do journalists need to know about sexual harassment and its combating procedures?
• What are the employees’ rights in case of sexual harassment?
• Formal and informal reporting, etc.

The guideline will be disseminated among the media outlets as well as other public platforms.

يحتوي هذا الدليل على مواضيع مثل ، على سبيل المثال لا الحصر: 1- ما هو التحرش الجنسي في مكان العمل؟ 2- لماذا تحتاج وسائل الإعلام لسياسات مناهضة للتحرش؟ 3- ما هي مسؤوليات وسائل الإعلام في مكافحة التحرش؟ 4- ما الذي يحتاج الصحفيون معرفته عن التحرش الجنسي وإجراءات مكافحته؟ 5- ما هي حقوق العاملين في حالة التحرش الجنسي؟ 6-التلبيغ الرسمي وغير الرسمي و غيره من مواضيع ضرورية لتفادي التحرش و مكافحته. سيتم نشر الدليل الإرشادي بين وسائل الإعلام بالإضافة إلى المنصات العامة الأخرى.
