World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day (#WNTDD #BeatNTDs #NTDs) will be observed on Tuesday 30 January 2024. This day marks the launch of both the first WHO road map and the London declaration on neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), in 2012. The theme for World NTD day 2024 is Unite. Act. Eliminate!

The World Health Organization defines Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) as a diverse group of conditions that are mainly prevalent in tropical areas, where they thrive among people living in impoverished communities. They are caused by a variety of pathogens including viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi and toxins, and are responsible for devastating health, social and economic consequences. It is estimated that NTDs affect more than 1 billion people, while the number of people requiring NTD interventions (both preventive and curative) is 1.6 billion.
