On April 6, four of our members from Rwanda, Turkmenistan, Kenya and Brazil, presented their digital health innovations to other network members, Internews staff and partners. This was an exciting opportunity to hear about cutting edge work in meeting the information needs of women and girls in Rwanda, adolescents in Turkmenistan, and university students in Kenya. Adding to this, our Brazilian HJN member spoke about his organization’s use of WhatsApp to collect data on sanitation challenges in the poorest and most neglected urban communities of Rio de Janeiro. He also emphasized the need to use this data to promote necessary policy changes to improve lives and increase representation within government.
