The power of film to bring stories to life is well known, but how many films make us stop and think about public health, not to mention change our behaviors around health? On June 24, the Health Journalism Network brought together three HJN members to talk about the power of film in changing attitudes and behaviors towards a range of public health topics. This conversation was facilitated by Gita Saedi Kiely, Director of FilmAid, an organization that uses film and other media to bring life-saving information, psychological relief, and much-needed hope to refugees and other communities in need. Our three featured members were: Black Girls Film (USA), the Mongolian Public Media Content Foundation (Mongolia), and Steps for the Future (South Africa).
